Accessibility Help

It is the policy of Opportunity Links to make reasonable adjustments in order to make all web-based information and services on the Children's Services Directory accessible and equally effective to all, regardless of disability.

This site has been developed by following Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) guidelines and recommendations.

Several features of the directory are designed to help those using screen readers or other "user agents", or browser aids, to more easily navigate around the directory.

Skip navigation

If you are using a screen reader, the skip navigation link will allow you to avoid menu items being repeatedly read out every time you move to a new page.

Access Keys

To aid those using a screen reader, or a talking browser or any user agents that support access keys, quick access to the main navigation links are provided via the keyboard using keys based on the UK Government Access Keys system. These access keys provide a quick way to navigate round the site without using a mouse. Follow these steps to make use of access keys:

  1. Hold the 'Alt' key (Windows PC) or 'Ctrl' key (Apple Mac).
  2. Select the key from the list below.
  3. Press 'Enter' if using a Windows PC (an Apple Mac takes you straight there).
  • S - Skip Navigation
  • 0 - Accessibility Help
  • 1 - Homepage
  • 3 - Directory Index
  • 5 - About the Service Directory
  • 6 - Help with searching
  • 9 - Feedback
  • B - Back
  • L - Larger text
  • S - Smaller text

We have also produced a text sizer for the site which can be selected using the + and - buttons at the bottom of every page or by using the appropriate access keys.
